But how can I learn how to focus, when I have too much to do?
Are you someone like me, who wants to avoid “overwhelm” as much as possible, but still get everything done on your to-do list? Well, I think I can help you out. We need to learn how to focus better, by zooming to only one thing at a time. Popular multi-tasking mindsets are harmful to our brains. Let me explain.
So, I figured out how you and I can focus on ideas which will help us accomplish our goals , feel happier, and more full-filled at…
I will soon be planting my garden too. The young seedlings in my office are growing fast. They want to be out in the fresh air and sunshine.
Before long I will need to clear out the dead leaves from raspberry bushes. Sort the bark from the marble stones, see what the books say about what-needs-to-be-done-when in the garden. And decide whether I will try again this year.

I think a writing buddy would be helpful for me. I am trying to find my path to writing. I write best in the early morning hours, but still have to allow time for my coffee and meditation, before writing. I would like to change this and write first. I'm still searching what what works best for my life style.
I think Debbie Doll is what brought back her memory for just a moment.
I soothe my heart with this reflection. To my mother so often lost in a mist , my voice can sometimes be the music to help part the haze.
Darius I agree with you 100%. What is success anyway? By whose standards, so we determine what a successful person looks like. Once I read
the definition of a successful person; is someone who finds happiness.
… life is good when you work on yourself — not when you get recognition. Hard times will define you. But you have to embrace the struggle and become friends with yourself. Accept who you are and own it. Never allow the desire for success to define you. That won’t make you a better person.
I’ve fantasized all my life. First I became a big dreamer, then a skilled fantasizer. What does this look like?
As far back as I can remember, I’ve always been a dreamer. It must have started in my early childhood. Is that natural? I think so, because dreaming is a precursor to creativity.
Because I’m good at daydreaming, it sparks my enthusiasm to live an exciting life, that leads me to fantasize.
Based on Merriam-Webster dictionary the definition of fantasizing means: indulge in daydreaming about something desired. Do you consciously daydream about something that you desire? What sparks your desires?
After being laid off from my job due to Covid-19, I’ve had a struggle like thousands of other Americans. Even though, I had a small savings to carry me for a while, and I appreciated the unemployment checks while they lasted, I’m facing some serious financial decisions for my future well-being.
After thinking through my various options, working from home seems like the best choice to me. It’s a shift that mainly takes some soul searching to manage my schedule and stay on task and avoid distractions.
For years, I’ve made my new year’s resolution to lose weight, make more…
One day last week while shopping at Walmart, I met a young woman who had vitiligo. She was standing in line behind me and apologized for not staying 6 feet away.
Mind you, she was wearing a mask — one of those see thru plastic shields. She had a beautiful smile, pretty brown skin, dark eyes, shiny long black hair and perfectly shaped pearl white teeth. But her hands had white blotches over her fingers and hand (only one hand).
She seemed to be very self-conscious about her appearance. She told me she has an autoimmune disease called Vitiligo. …
Do you want to be more productive with less headaches?
Do you want to be more productive — get more things checked off on your to-do list? Maybe!
According to Webopedia, productivity describes the art of deciding and acting on your top priorities. When we work with our values, we give our life a sense of meaning.
For a start, we need to decide what we really want — then think through the steps involved. I’m going to discuss my writing journey and finding my productive path to become what I think of as a successful writer on Medium.
Trying to find your way to consistency is more difficult than it seems.
Why is it so difficult to be consistent with your writing tasks? I’ve asked myself this question so many times and even studied the WHY’s.
After reading several posts here on Medium and Mason Curry’s book entitled, “Daily Ritual”, I’ve concluded it boils down to setting priorities. But it goes deeper than that because “life” get in a writer’s way. However, we all have the same 24 hours a day to choose what we want to do with our time.
After spending a lot of time analyzing…
